hey :) how can I can have a 1600 calories everyday in order to lose weight. Do you have any meal plan you can suggest? (I'm vegetarian) and on the days when I workout, should I eat back all the calories I consume during working out?

1600 calories is about where you should be to maintain. If you want to lose weight, you should be eating 1200-1400 calories.

Being a vegetarian, make sure you’re getting enough protein. If you eat fish (it seems like every vegetarian has a different definition of what vegetarian is), then eat fish at least once a week to get some protein, along with nuts, green vegetables like spinach and broccoli, etc.

Just make sure your diet is balanced.

I don’t even know the answer to that question. It’s still a debate whether or not you should eat back the calories to 1200, but I never do. In order to lose weight, you need to make a caloric deficit, so if you keep eating back to 1200, you won’t be making any deficit. So I don’t recommend eating them back, just make sure your eating enough.

Hi! I'm 17, from Michigan. Currently a 34G (I may be an H soon) and want to get the reduction. Is there anything you think I should do pre-op? Right now, besides the fear of the surgeon messing up, I'm absolutely terrified of being made to look fatter once my boobs are smaller. I'm a pudgy 8, taking 18 credits and a rather difficult university, and am trying to balance everything but it just doesn't work sometimes. I know I should drop some weight before the operation but am losing motivation..

It’s not necessary to drop weight before the surgery unless you want too. And if you have a good surgeon, they won’t make your boobs smaller than the rest of you. They don’t say, “Well, she’s a G, so let’s make her a B.” They don’t know what size you’re going to be. They do it based on your body. So if you want to lose weight beforehand, it may make them make your boobs a little smaller since you’ve lost weight, but otherwise losing weight isn’t a big deal before surgery.

It’s up to you to make your own motivation and to find the time to exercise and to eat healthy.

Gotta Weight Loss/Diet/Exercise/Fitness Question?

ASK!

Oct 20, 20111 note
Hey Kaylie! :) I was wondering if working out can have a positive effect on your skin. I worked out six days last week and ate really healthy. It's this time of the month again and normally I do break out, but I haven't.

Of course. Once you start eating better and exercising, you’re doing what your body is meant to be doing in order to be healthy. Healthy habits = healthy body, which will make you look and feel your best!

long story short: dropped to an anorexic bmi this summer, then binged my way to fatness. my intake is so erratic; i'll eat 600 calories one day and binge on 3,000 the next. it's always up and down and i have no self control anymore, absolutely none. i'm skinnyfat now and i hate it. plus my metabolism is in the toilet and i feel like if I ate the "healthy" amount of calories for my weight, i would gain. help? :') sorry for the huge rant.

You answered yourself. “I hate it.” If you really hate your habits, it’s up to you to change them. Start off slowly. Make it your goal to eat 1200-1400 calories and exercise for at least 20-30 minutes a few times a week. Once you’ve checked off that for a full week, do the same calorie intake and bump it to 30-40 minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week.

When you feel like you want to binge, drink a glass of water or tea and munch on something healthy like baby carrots or celery or grapes. Take your mind off it by watching a really good movie you own. Or even push yourself to go for a run or exercise to take your mind of it.

Occupy your mind with good, healthy thoughts. :)

Can sugar substitutes (like Splenda) have negative effects on your weight loss? Because I just love to drink tea, especially now that it's getting colder and colder where I live. I would probably only put one small tablet of it into my tea each day, but I'm still kinda sceptical, since I've never used any sort of sugar substitute.

I don’t like Splenda because it’s not natural. Try Stevia or just use natural sugar. Or cut the sugar completely. Sugar in general, Splenda or not, isn’t very good for you, but if you require sugar for your tea, then just stick with something natural.

I have a question and it would be super nice if you could answer it. I go running four times a week. Between each day, I have my rest days, where I do strength training (so three times a week). I want to target my arms, my abs and my legs. So I was thinking about focusing on each body part on one of these three strength training days, but I feel that one day per week won't have that big of an effect. And I don't want to do arms + abs + legs together three times a week. Can you help me out? :)

Doing them each once a week will work perfectly. It’s good to let your muscles rest between days, so doing arms+legs+abs every other day might wear them out. You’ll see results no matter which way you do it.

It actually annoys me so much the amount of people who don't understand the meaning of 'skinny fat'. Lol. It's actually really annoying. Hopefully anon will come back to read your answer because they need to learn the meaning! xD

I know, so many people are offended by the word “fat.” Fat is not just an adjective, it’s also a noun, people.

how long did it take you to reach 120 w.e im trying to get 120 also im 140 something;/

It took me at least two months. I got stuck at 126 for a reaaaally long time. Don’t stress out about getting to a certain weight quickly. Focus on eating right and exercising enough, and your body will take care of the rest :) Good luck!

Skinny fat?? Isn't there a more body image friendly way to say "maybe she needs to tone up" there is no such thing as skinny fat, I don't care what you IPhone generation brats call it. Don't bother to respond you'll just piss me off and my day already SUCKS

Aww, anon, you’re so naive. :)

Skinny fat is called skinny fat because it’s a person who looks skinny but who has no muscle and is made of fat. What else should it be called? Skinny blubber? Thin flab?

I think you need to tone up your attitude. :)
