Do you eat bread? Like is whole wheat bread okay to eat? or whole wheat pasta? because people are always telling me not to eat bread and pasta but i love it so much so it sucks. but i like it whole wheat, and i thought if it was whole wheat it is okay to eat! what do you think abut this?

Of course! Bread and pasta are carbs, and carbs = energy! We need some everyday! I don’t eat anything white. I eat whole wheat pasta and bread. Just look at the food pyramid. Bread and pasta are great, but if you’re trying to lose weight you shouldn’t eat too much. Some bread in the morning and 1 cup of pasta for dinner is totally fine.

this isn't question, but for the anon's asking about smoothies i hve a reciepie that's easier on the sugar and calories than most! plus, it's super fresh and packed with vitamins and such -1 cup kefir , lowfat plain, unsweetened(kefir is yogurt type food and has tons of probiotic cultures which can enhance your immune system and balance you digestive system. you can find it in the yogurt section of your grocery store for about 3 dollars for four servings) -any fruits you would like! i usually do a banana, a few strawberries, and other berries if i have them -if needed, add pinch of sugar or sugar substitute if you would like, but usually the fruit is sweet enough. just blend these all together and you'll have a nice, large smoothie (enough for a full dinner sized glass). the kefir had 110 calories, 2g of fat, and 12g of sugar (regular yogurt has about the same sugar grams). yesterday i had this with a whole banana, five strawberries, and a handfull of raspberries and it was 260 calories, with 2.5g of fat, and 38g of sugar (from the fruit), not to mention all the antioxidints and vitamins. it makes a GREAT snack, like between lunch and dinner also, the kefir has not taste at all, so you basically just taste the fruits :)

I was wondering, is a homemade fruit smoothie okay to have as a meal? I use publix brand sherbet, which is 100 cal per 1/2 cup. I use 3 cups, so it'd be 300 cals and 3 grams of fat. I add in a little bit of reduced fat milk, some chunks of mango, and a tablespoon of splenda. Would you say that's bad for someone who wants to lose weight? Thank you :)

It may be enough calories to replace a meal, but it’s absolutely awful nutrition wise. It’s pure sugar, which is exactly what you don’t want when trying to lose weight. Cut out the sherbet and the splenda, for sure. Use yogurt instead. Yogurt might have a little more calories, but it’s infinitely better for you than ice cream. That will also knock out the need for milk in it too. Also, places like costco, raley’s, sam’s club, etc, sell big, frozen bags of fruit. Use more of a variety of fruit than just mango. I usually put in ice, yogurt, a splash of guava and mango juice to thin it out, and a variety of frozen fruits and fresh banana. No added sugar (except for the bit in the juice), and it’ll taste a lot better.

Hey! you referenced your love of swiss miss 100cal fugicles - I stick to the popscicle brand 40cal fugicles - they're sugar free (they use splenda, which is not good for you but cuts out the refined sugar) and non-fat and taste AMAZING! Perfect chocolate fix and they'll save you 60 cal. And if you're willinto go dairy free, the tofutti brand is 30cal

The ones I have are fat free too, and I’m someone who would rather have natural sugar in my body than chemicals, but that’s just me!

Thank you for the suggestion! I’m sure tons of people will be super thankful for it! 40 calories is like nothing!
