I drink my coffee almost black with just a touch of half&half in it. I’ve never liked sweet coffee; the stronger the better!

You can definitely train yourself to like stronger coffee. I used to like coffee with much more cream in it but I slowly started less and less and I got used to it, and now I hate too much cream. If you truly don’t think you can not handle the taste of coffee without sweeteners, then switch to tea. I think it’s funny how people can say they like coffee but they add a gallon of cream and pack it with sweetener. 

Maybe try a different roast. A lot of people like the blonde roast at Starbucks because it’s less bitter, but it does have more caffeine because it’s less roasted. But it’s pretty good!
